Olive Ave Corridor Feasibility Study & 98th Ln/99th Ave Traffic Signal
project OVERVIEW
Y2K Engineering was tasked from our Peoria Traffic on-call to perform a safety analysis, access management analysis, and signal warrant analysis on the Olive Avenue corridor from 98th Lane to the Loop 101. Following the warrant analysis, Y2K was then tasked with advancing a traffic signal to final design at 98th Ln/99th Ave and Olive Avenue. Y2K Engineering obtained lidar survey and provided 3-D concepts of the new signal as extensive utility coordination was required with both APS and SRP since overhead power was found to conflict with the new signal mast arm. Y2K lead the entire signal design efforts including utility coordination, ADA ramp design, lighting analysis, and signing and marking design. Additionally, Y2K led efforts to design median modifications at 93rd & Olive to address access management and safety concerns adjacent to the Loop 101. This effort included extensive public involvement in the surrounding area to discuss taking away the left turn movements from the neighborhood to the north and business park to the south.
