Travis Moe, PE (CO) is driven by the simple reminder taped to his monitor—“be the reason someone gets home safe.” That ethos guides his work creating safer streets for everyone who walks, bikes, drives, or rides transit.
Travis’s expertise spans traffic safety and operations, from road safety audits and corridor modeling to left-turn warrants and bike-lane projects. He recently led the simulation effort for Denver’s York–Josephine 4-to-3 conversion, developing multiple scenarios along a 3.7-mile Vision Zero corridor that removed barriers between historic neighborhoods and is part of an effort to transform a corridor on Denver’s High Injury Network into a safer, more connected street for all users.
As the first full-time hire of Y2K’s Denver office, Travis helped build the local team and continues to help shape its growth. With a clear focus on results and real-world impact, Travis approaches each project with a balance of technical precision and stakeholder awareness—equally comfortable hashing out solutions with community members or refining microsimulation code late into the night.
He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Mexico, a M.S. from the University of Colorado – Denver, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Colorado. Active in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Travis currently serves as webmaster for the Colorado/Wyoming Section and previously held student-chapter leadership roles. Outside the office, you’ll find Travis on the ice (either playing or watching hockey), training for triathlons, or exploring Colorado’s outdoors with his wife Tierney.
Volunteer
Travis stays involved in his local community by volunteering time at Denver homeless shelters, soup kitchens, and addiction recovery centers.
